Traditional Thai Massage and Yoga are an integral part of my life, so it comes as no surprise that both were present during my recent trip to Europe…..oh yes, I am one who travels with her yoga-mat!
Whether it be sharing yoga poses with a friend on her kitchen floor in London/UK, or doing headstands overlooking a Norwegian Fjord, a yoga practice is something that can be done and enjoyed anywhere.
Finding a yoga studio of your style of preference is no big deal either. In the small German town of Bad Kissingen, where I visited my mother, I found a quaint Iyengar Yoga Studio with this splendid roof-top view…
No different than with Thai Yoga Massage……all that is required is a space on the floor and a receiving body. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity again, to share my passion of bodywork with some of my friends, and help them ease any discomfort they experienced at the time.
In London, my friend’s lower back tension was alleviated; in Holland I treated a friend for stress-relief; in Germany I helped a long time friend with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to experience mobility in the body, and another one to ease tension in her legs.
A highlight of my trip was to reconnect with a dear friend and colleague in Bad Godesberg/Germany. I first met Hans Lütz during a workshop in Croatia in 2009. His book Thai Yoga Massage, more than just the basics has recently been released in English, and is an enriching addition to the literature available on Thai Massage. My day spent in Bad Godesberg provided a great opportunity to practice, exchange and discuss some of the moves from his book.
Now back in Calgary, I look forward to sharing a Thai Yoga Massage session with YOU, and welcome you onto my mat!
Namaste,
Annette
